Magdalene Nuxia Peng
Teaching Fellow

Magdalene Nuxia Peng is a Bay-Area raised pianist, vocalist, composer, music producer, and performing artist. Having performed on classical stages worldwide from a young age, she graduated from USC Thornton School of Music in 2019 and currently resides in Oakland, CA. Her passion for jazz, choral music, songwriting, and music production has fueled huge contributions to many classic Bay Area underground projects of the past few years, including: AroMa’s “Symphony No Harmony,” SuperGood4uThing’s “FUTURISTA,” Qamp’s “Qamp II” and Qamp III,” and Free Key Choir’s “Rust is a Slow Fire” and “Reservoir.”
She currently divides her time between being co-conductor and pianist for the Free Key Choir, a secular choir in Oakland founded by Derek Sup, and teaching piano and voice at Starland School of Music in Alameda. Nuxia’s personal music style blends experimental r&b with “jazzy songwriter DNA.” Her first EP, “Cute Dreams, Sad Eyes,” is set to release in August of 2025.
